SOUTH West Surrey MP Jeremy Hunt was joined by Anne Milton, MP for Guildford and local campaigners in an overnight vigil at Parliament Square to protest against possible hospital closures in Surrey.The campaigners braved the cold to sing Christmas Carols and light candles right outside the Palace of Westminster to demonstrate the steps they were prepared to take to keep their local hospitals open.Jeremy said: ""It was an amazing night and I am very grateful for all of those who travelled up from Surrey to show their support. We want to send a message to the health authority that we are deadly serious about fighting for our hospitals and are prepared to go to any lengths.""On the morning of the vigil Jeremy and Anne were joined by the Leader of the Conservative Party, David Cameron, who congratulated them for highlighting the threat to health services in Surrey.Shadow Secretary of State for Health, Andrew Lansley MP, and Shadow Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, Philip Hammond MP, also joined the campaigners.
