Jeremy Hunt, MP for South West Surrey, has requested a meeting with the new chairman of the Surrey-wide Primary Care Trust which will come into existence as of October 1.Jeremy wants to be one of the first people to meet with Douglas Robertson when he takes up his new role next month. Jeremy said: ""The new Surrey-wide PCT is going to be absolutely instrumental in deciding what happens to our local hospitals. I want Mr Robertson to clearly spell out what is going to happen to Milford Hospital when he takes control of the new PCT. The fight for Milford is not over - given the possible closure of A & E at Royal Surrey it would be double madness to proceed.""Douglas Robertson is currently chief executive of North Surrey PCT. However as of next month he will be in charge of the new Surrey-wide PCT.Jeremy said: ""I want to be one of the first people to meet with Mr Robertson when he takes up his new role. I want him to realise what a big mistake the previous PCT made and to pause instead of rushing into a flawed implementation.""
