South West Surrey MP Jeremy Hunt and Guildford MP Anne Milton were left frustrated and angry following a meeting with Ministers and health bosses last week.Candy Morris, Chief Executive of the South East Coast Strategic Health Authority, said that it could be as late as January before the proposals about the future of the Royal Surrey are made public.Jeremy said the meeting in the House of Commons triggered great cause for concern. He said: ""I sought assurances that this would not be a sham consultation process like the one we had for Milford, Cranleigh and Haslemere hospitals - but received none. ""I also took the Minister Caroline Flint to task for refusing to meet MPs. If they think we will sit by while they stitch things up they will have to think again.""Anne Milton said: ""The decision of health bosses to further delay proposals over the future of the Royal Surrey damages already rock-bottom staff and patient morale. I want to know what involvement clinicians will have in the consultation process; I am yet to have any meaningful answers.""The Government refuses to accept that their healthcare funding formula is deeply flawed. We in Surrey get a raw deal – this Government is going to realise that the people of Guildford are going to mount the biggest hospital fight this county has ever seen!""
