SOUTH West Surrey’s MP Jeremy Hunt has expressed his frustration over the time it is taking for the Roads Minister, Dr Stephen Ladyman, to make his decision on the A3 tunnel.
During a meeting back in February, Dr Ladyman told Mr Hunt to expect his verdict on the scheme in late spring.
But with summer almost here, there is still no indication as to when a decision will be announced.
Mr Hunt has written to Dr Ladyman to remind him of the importance of the scheme and ask for a better idea as to when a decision will be made.
“The continued delay in Dr Ladyman’s decision is immensely frustrating for all campaigners. The problem around the Hindhead crossroads is not getting any better, infact if anything the traffic is getting even heavier. The queuing traffic continues to put a large strain on the local environment. I want to see a decision made on the A3 tunnel sooner rather than later,” said Mr Hunt.
