Jeremy today made a festive visit to three local hospitals facing closures, as part of his ongoing campaign to fight the proposed reductions in healthcare services in the area.Donning a Father Christmas costume, Jeremy met staff and patients at the Royal Surrey, Haslemere and Milford hospitals. Underlining his commitment to keeping community hospitals open, Jeremy warned Surrey Primary Care Trust that the fight was far from over.Jeremy said: “It is very important now not to lose the momentum of our campaign to prevent the closure of community hospitals in South West Surrey. I am fiercely committed to continuing the fight in 2007, as the loss of our local health services will cause misery for local residents and will result in lives being put in danger.”“I am much looking forward to meeting the staff at the hospitals, whose hard work over the Christmas period I pay tribute to.”
