On Thursday, October 8th, Jeremy spoke in the House of Commons, in the Planning and House Building debate. In his speech, Jeremy encouraged the government to think again about the proposals which would mandate even more development in South West Surrey, undermine local democracy, reduce the supply of affordable housing, and erode the green belt. (80% of South West Surrey is either part of the green belt, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty or, an Area of Great Landscape Value).
In response to the debate, the Housing Minister said that the government "will reflect carefully on what we have heard and the feedback we receive."
