A definition that offers all learners regular opportunities to achieve and develop confidences and self-esteem through hands-on learning experiences in woodland or the natural environment with trees. This ethos is shared by thousands of trained practitioners across the UK and beyond.

Head teacher, Wendy Todd, on the school's website, states: "We want every child to have a sense of their own worth, the confidence to express themselves and recognise that they are a valued member of the school community.  This term, we are appointing members to our Pupil Parliament who will represent all age groups from within the school.  Our aim is to increase pupils’ knowledge and understanding of themselves and others to assist in their development as responsible citizens in an ever changing world."
